Why do people here caution me not to ask questions for making life decisions? Do people here misguide others?

I think it's ok to ask, just so long as your able to discern good advice from bad, as there are certainly those who will misguide, and some even misguide with honestly good intentions. I know there are some very smart, perceptive, intuitive people here with vast and varied life experiences, so you certainly can get good advice, you just have to weed through the bad.
