Started Microgynon30 a bit early :S?

Ive been on the 28 day pill numerous times and being in a recently new relationship decided i would start it again, my period was due round this week and i started with some spotting yesterday so took my first pack pill yesterday as i thought my period had started, but today theres been hardly any blood and I've had no period symptoms while I usually do have symptoms i've also never spotted before a period, i was worried it could be spotting like becoming pregnant but we've used protection every time and its hasn't failed so i took that one out my head, as a caution we've decided to carry on with other protection for the first month if I'm not protected after a couple of weeks from now. i have read that it doesnt really matter when u start it but first day of your period is best, main question is will i be protected after my first month? or straight away after my period finally comes this week? just a little bit baffled now! as i would like to know if i would be protected the first couple of weeks from now even though ive accidently started early from my body tricking me! thxs for the help!
